What do clean synthetic fuels, electric outboard motors, and direct air carbon capture have in common? These technologies can all play important roles in reducing emissions from energy production, transportation, and industry. And they’re all part of Launch Alaska’s 2024 Tech Deployment Track cohort.

We’re proud to welcome 11 innovative startups into our award-winning climate tech accelerator program. Together, we’ll work to assess market fit in Alaska, connect with potential customers, and identify projects with real benefits for Alaskans. Cohort companies will receive individualized guidance from Alaska subject matter experts, and warm introductions to Launch Alaska’s network of commercial, community, and institutional partners. 

Cascadia Seaweed (Sidney, British Columbia) - Cascadia Seaweed sustainably cultivates seaweed in the ocean and transforms it into regenerative agriculture products for crops and animals.

FlyWire (Lexington, KY) - FlyWire is a vertically integrated data services company that uses proprietary technology to enable more precise regulatory enforcement and create business value for fishing companies.

General Galactic Technologies Corporation (El Segundo, CA) - General Galactic is a clean fuels startup led by Halen Mattison (former SpaceX) and Luke Neise (former NSF research fellow). Their Genesis technology innovates upon proven, scalable processes and has the potential to remove gigatons of carbon emissions globally. Today they're building modular carbon dioxide capture & conversion systems to produce low-cost, low-carbon synthetic natural gas and end global reliance on fossil energy.

GreenTaxi (Dallas, TX) - GreenTaxi’s Electric Taxi (eTaxi) system reduces jet aircraft emissions and saves fuel by allowing “Zero Engine Taxi” operations allowing jets to taxi with an electric motor on their landing gear instead of using their main engines.

Linebird (Ashland, VA) - Linebird makes payloads for drones to perform hands-on work on live power lines.

Phoenix Waste Solutions (Chauvin, LA) - Phoenix Waste Solutions has patented a new technology for a micro waste-to-energy furnace that can thermally reduce 1000 pounds of unsorted Municipal Solid Waste – plastic, rubber, food waste – into 2% ash every hour, without using any fuel, while producing 35% less greenhouse gasses than a conventional incinerator.

Photon Marine (Portland, OR) - Photon Marine is building the world’s most powerful and intelligent electric outboard motor system tailored to commercial boat fleets.

RUNWITHIT Synthetics (Edmonton, Alberta) - RUNWITHIT creates 3D SimCity-like, living digital models of regions that allow strategic decision-makers to dial forward and share visualized data-supported community futures, informing energy transition, climate change, community resilience, energy burden and equity.

SeaDeep (Boston, MA) - SeaDeep specializes in advancing subsea visual operations through its SeaDeep AI platform, integrating advanced artificial intelligence to automate the analysis and reporting on subsea maritime infrastructure.

SpaceLab (Astana, Kazakhstan) - SpaceLab builds hardware and software AI satellite IoT to provide connectivity for remote places.

TerraFixing, Inc. (Ottawa, Ontario) - TerraFixing captures CO2 from atmospheric air using its IP protected direct air carbon capture (DAC) technology that thrives in cold climates.

The 2024 Tech Deployment Track program kicks off with an in-person pitch day in Anchorage in September; the remainder of the program is conducted virtually. Successful program graduates can receive an invitation to join the Launch Alaska Portfolio, benefitting from ongoing Alaska project support.
